always confirm plans when it involves money... and don't succumb to impulse buying
Here's the whole story
I was online getting ready to purchase tickets to the Justin Timberlake concert. For the record, I'm not a pop concert fan but he's definitely an exception. Anyway, the seats I found were in a decent spot but I couldn't get a hold of my cousin to confirm our plans of going together. Her friend was supposed to come along as well, so I figured it'd be better to buy the tix instead of disappointing everyone. If things fall through I can always sell them later, right?
Problem: Floor tickets (closer) vs. seats (comfortable). I worried that my cousin's friend would flake out, so I bought 3 seats AND 2 floor tickets... just in case. I also knew the concert would sell out soon because it's his 3rd show in LA, so I went ahead and bought 2 more coveted floor tickets thinking I could sell those for crazy money the week before the show.
My cousin calls an hour after my massive purchase saying she can't make it. I now have 7 tickets and 2 parking passes for this damn show, totaling about $800+. Luckily, I still have 2 people to go with but now I've got to get rid of the additional 4 floor tickets and a parking pass.
Btw, this situation can actually work in your favor when you live in a town where you know a bunch of people and can get rid of the tickets quickly. Looks like I'll be posting these bad boys on Craigslist...
