letting my roommate see how much $$ I was getting back in my tax return
My Advice to You is
Don't let your friends, especially roommates, see how much you make
Here's the whole story
I had the stupid idea of asking for some help to my roommate when filing my tax return. Now my psycho roommate wants to raise the rent just because he saw I was getting quite a few bucks back. We doesn't understand that I'm only getting back that much because every time I got a pay check I was getting ripped of by the amazing US of A government.

Maybe you should check and see if your roommate is trying to buy some sort of expensive luxury item and that's why he's raising the rent.
I think the only fair thing to do now is look at your roommate's tax return and tell him he's charging you too much!
My roommate OWES money to the government... he is in big time debt after buying himself a new toy to ride around Jax.
