So, long story short...

While ben was living

ben made the mistake of

having every piece of I.D. in my wallet.

My Advice to You is

Never do that...

Here's the whole story

I lost my wallet with every piece of I.D. in it. My debit card was in there, and the only way to get a new debit card (in canada anyways) is to have 2 pieces of I.D. Well, those are gone now and I can't get to my money for a while until I get my new I.D. ARGH.

Yea I used to carry my social and all these important cards with me. Now I just carry the ol' driver's license.

But yea man, I feel your pain. I lost mine two years ago and it took forever to get things squared away again.

George Castanza - funny. So whats the best solution? Debit, social, credit cards and driver's license - is there a way to get a copy for each? Perhaps, if this was possible - leave a copy in a safe place at home or deposit box.

you absolutely need the real driver's license if you ever go to a bar or anywhere that cards. I usually say keep the things that are easy to replace...(for example, cc's, student id's, driver's license, etc) and leave in a safe place stuff like social security cards.

Because if someone steals your SS card. Its not like you can easily get a new number.

But..I remember seeing a site where you could actually lock down your info and even if theives got your identity, they could nothing with it. Hell, the CEO puts his SS number on the front page.
