The Ratt’s Story
Categories
So, long story short...
The Ratt made the mistake of
Not having the perfect responce/approach ready to defend myself from a panhandler or money begging bum.
My Advice to You is
Ask them first for money before they ask you, and catch them off guard.
Here's the whole story
There is an age old saying that states "The best defense is a good offense". this saying has never rung more true than with this situation. We have all been approached by bums a million times in our lives asking for change, beer, crack, whatever. and usually you would just say...sorry. But due to the recent growth of the bum population here in jax and the world over, bums have become more persistant and "Reject" Ready. I once even had one say he had a credit card swiper when I told him thats all I had. So with this being said, i have the perfect solution to this "Awkward Moment" problem. ASK THEM FIRST. When you see a bum making a B-Line for your through a parking lot or whatever, wait until just before he is about to ask you for money and turn and say "Hey Man, you got a Dolla?" The Deer in headlight responce is better than an actual deer in a Eighteen wheelers headlights. They don't even see it comin, and better than that, they have no comeback or rebuttle to try and follow you with ending the awkward situation right there with them completely stunned and you walking away laughing your head off. So take my advice and try this, you wont be dissapointed!
Boom Pow Suprise!

if you hang out in downtown jax, this is incredibly important advice
Hahaha...You could also be a tool and ask if they can break a $100 bill.
I think it was 4th of July last year and we went to St Augustine. A bum literally threatened a friend of mine to give him some change or he was going to fight him. I laughed but then it looked like he was reaching in his pocket for something so we coughed up some money.
Damn those bums and their shanks!
At least we don't live in Atlanta. Homeless people there are really aggressive.
Acutally if i remember correctly, Gainesville is really bad too. Anybody see that South Park episode about it?
That's so funny, I independently figured out this solution to deal with the beggars in downtown Pittsburgh, about a week ago. Works like a charm!
