So, long story short...

Andy Thai made the mistake of

Trusting Google (Adsense) too much for revenue

My Advice to You is

Be cautious when using google Adsense for certain genres!

Here's the whole story

Well, few months ago...my arcade games site was making $100 a day with Google Adsense. Avg cpc clicks paid to me was 20-25 cents with a 4% click thru rate.

Also had images next to pictures (yes that is against google's tos, but lots of people do it!).

Then google contacted about the pictures next to the ads and ask that I remove them.

1) click thru rate drop to 1%

2) on same day, I noticed cpc when down to 5 cents!

So...now my site makes like $5 a day for game ads.

I've heard a few stories about this, how after you're making a few thousand a month from Google Adsense on your website for a few months, Google changes the cpc on your ads.

It sucks big time, but well, its Google!

So what have you done to recoup the lost revenue? Any other advertising outlets you would recommend to other startups?

Have you thought about doing Gamefly ads on your flash-game site?
