I really don't think there can be too much information, but it is incredibly tough to figure out what's good information. As in, what data should I care about and what I should throw out the window.

A good lesson to learn, but how do you learn it? I could read 'too much information' to mean literally doing too much research before reaching a decision, or trying to get consensus from all your stakeholders before making a decision. Either way, it has to do with making decisions and having the confidence (authority? perserverance?) to stand by them with others.

My work role (product manager) has me collecting lots of feedback from many different sources, and it's particularly difficult for me to see my ultimately hard-wrung decisions knocked out of the realm of possibility by others.

I think what Mr. Samuel is trying to get across is that sometimes you need to stop talking about an idea and just go do it. It's true that the more information you have, the better off you probably are, but you also have to take into account what resources you have. When you have a good idea, one of the most overlooked resources is time. The best case scenario is having enough information to move forward, but also being able to adjust on the fly to any new ideas, problems, feedback, etc. that are sure to come about with a new startup.
