not listening to my friend's advice
My Advice to You is
if the majority of your friends are telling you not to do it, don't do it
Here's the whole story
I dated someone who had been a friend for awhile. Her feelings for me were stronger than my feelings for her and the relationship ended poorly.
Now, I don't live my life with regrets, nor do I look to the past, however I do wish I had been a little smarter about this one.
Heed the advice of your close friends and make choices you are confident won't go sour a couple months down the road.

I wish i had heeded my friends advice, though i was in the opposite position, i was chasing after someone who seemed like they wanted the chase and nothing else. I was warned by just about all of my friends, but went on anyway. I dont regret it, but wish i would have realized that good friends are actually looking out for you.
