Anyone recommend or have any advice for finding a medium sized dog that doesn't shed all over the place and is really lazy?

I've actually just heard about a new pill that you can get from your vet that is supposed to reduce shedding if not knock it out entirely. I met a couple on the beach who were pleased with their results so shedding may become less of an issue.

Look up breeds for allergy sufferers- there's an extensive list. Anything bred with a poodle won't shed.

Yes, but they will be sort of ugly. Lol, sorry for Poodle lovers out there.

Seriously, you get a poodle and we're through. You are going to let WC kill Jack aren't you? You are going to let that happen? Really? A cat that is cool and does nothing but love you? And you will let it die? Wow.
Just wow.

They say a dog is a reflection of their owner. I can't wait to see what this thing looks like.

Probably going to have thick black glasses for some reason.

Please adopt, don't buy. Rescuers are committed to finding the right home based on the person's needs. Their goal is to make sure that it's a great fit so if you share your needs with them, they can usually match you up with the perfect dog. Go to www.petfinder.com to find rescued animals (and rescue groups) near you. For the record, Cairn Terriers don't shed but that may be too small for what you're looking for. Good Luck!

I know you think poodles are ugly, and so did I before I got one. Whenever I tell someone I have a poodle I have to say... I have a poodle, but it doesn't have that fru fru hair cut. Just let their hair grow and they look like a retriever with a longer snout. One problem with that though, poodles are very active dogs. They are calm and relaxed, though, if they get like, an hour of exercise a day. To see mine go to www.freewebs.com/mypoodle and click on "Rouge".

we had a poodle that didn't bark much at all, was really chill mostly but would play whenever you wanted. plus we let the hair stay long which didn't look offensive. no shedding just had to cut its hair every once in a while.

I second the notion to adopt! Puppies are a lot of work and there's plenty of dogs out there looking for homes. We've adopted all our dogs and had great success. The adoption people can give you lots of advice also.
