So, long story short...
Nicki Hines made the mistake of
leaving my puppy out of his crate to test his level of training
My Advice to You is
don't ever let your puppy out of his crate unattended until he's like 3 years old.
Here's the whole story
after 6 months or so of crate training, i thought i'd leave mr. chubbs out of his crate while i went to work to see if he'd have any accidents.
i drove the 4 miles home for lunch, and found chubbs curled up on the couch sleeping. no accidents! what a good little puppy! whew, the crate training worked!
wrong.
went back to work, came home at 5, and one whole arm of the loveseat was gone. i suspect it was in chubbs' fat little belly. i mean it was GONE, fabric, foam, cotton batting, gone. he's one mighty pug.
back to the crate.
...1 year later, no crate, but i usually come home to the couch cushions scattered around the room. forever mischievous.

Oh Chubby Chubby Chubby. Whoooooooa here he comes, watch out girl he'll chew it up...whoooooa here he comes. He's a couch eater!
