Here's the whole story
My boyfriend and I went to petsmart to see the adopt-a-cats. Hey look, there is a cute kitten. Let's get her. OK. Oh look, that one is so cute. His name is fat albert. let's get him too. OK. You know what, Jenn, we already have 2 kitties, we can't leave this little grey one behind. Ok. Let's get all three. Well, maybe not...we already have the three at home. Oh well. Hey vet lady, here are our three new cats. OK. They all look ok. just keep them in isolation for a week to make sure. OK. Hey vet lady, the little one looks bad. Yeah. It's not good. We have to put her to sleep. Let's just take this one day at a time. Hey vet lady, the fat one, he looks bad. Yeah. It's not good. we have to put him to sleep. We cried a lot. It was very sad. The vet bills were already around 1 grand. Uh oh. the little grey kittie looks bad. Hey Vet lady, the little grey one looks bad. Yeah. She has ocd and she is nervous. she will always eat her fur and poop a lot. OK. 2000 dollars later. Uh oh. One of our old cats has something wrong with her mouth, vet lady. Yeah. Not good. She ate a wire. She needs meds and hospital stays. Ok. 3000 dollars later. uh oh. One of our other older cats is throwing up a lot. he won't stop. help, vet lady. well, this cat has something really wrong. he needs two weeks of vet stays, emergency care, etc. ok. 5000 dollars later. uh oh. hey vet lady, my boyfriends cat can't eat b/c of sores in his mouth. yeah, its not good. he needs shots and medicated food. 6000 dollars later...
*THE MORAL TO THE STORY: Don't bite off more than you can chew, kiddos. If you have three cats, don't get three more unless they all live in bubbles and you have lots of land and money.

Hey, cats are awesome. You can't be blaimed my friend. That cat on my picture here with the pink lingerie on his head is my roommates cat, Mai Tai. He's awesome. I'm TOTALLY stealing him when I move. :)
i was in the same situation, six cats! and i was pregnant with our son. it all became just too much to handle - had to give away 3 of them. that was so difficult. so you are not alone. i love animals - right now we have a dog and two cats. but one thing i have learned over the 25 years that we've owned cats and dogs is that cats are not pack animals, dogs are. one cat can be perfectly content to live in your house without company (they often don't like the competition!). also, one needs to realize the expense of vet bills, food, supplies, etc. before taking on an adoption of those adorable babies!
