Zoe’s Story

So, long story short...
Zoe made the mistake of
not sussing out the drinks situation before spending heaps of money on drinks tickets.
My Advice to You is
Check that you really need the tickets before buying them.
Here's the whole story
Upon arriving at the Big Day Out this year, we were all faced with a new concept to our little backwards city - drink tickets.
"You'll need drink tickets to buy drinks" we were told by security, and this was backed up by big signs reading "Spirits 4 tickets, Beer 3 tickets, Water & Soft Drink 2 tickets". A complete rip-off, but we figured we had no choice if we didn't fancy dying of dehydration, and joined the long cue; better to get it over with before the good bands start.
$20 worth of tickets in hand, I made my way over to one of the many drink stands, only to discover that they all accepted cash only, and tickets were only redeemable in the bar! Not only did the tickets add a few extra cues to my day, but to rub salt into our wounds, water and soft drinks at the drink stands were cheaper.

Pretty much why pre-drinking is the best reccomendation to any public event.
drink tickets suck. a few years back at warped tour they tried the same thing. before realizing we needed tickets, we got in the line-up for food and drinks. once we got to the front, the guy told us that we needed tickets, which were on sale on the other side of the park! Like probably an hour walk there and back.
I told the guy it was ridiculous (might have used some more colourful language) and he said ok give me $10 and I'll hook you up with whatever you want.
Done and done.
not exactly the same but this reminded me of a time when i was young and went to a very popular amusement park. my friend and i got on the ride together. as it was taking off down the track, the attendant told us that we should put on the brake when we saw the sign. we spent the entire ride screaming for someone to help us as we could not find the breaks. [there were none, or a sign either].
