So, long story short...

sidetwo2 made the mistake of

choosing what was convenient versus what was affordable

My Advice to You is

suck it up, find a roommate, and don't waste two months paying $1500/month on rent

Here's the whole story

a few more details: I moved to LA from the Midwest - was not offered relocation expenses, but they did put me up in corporate housing for 1 month in Woodland Hills (where rent exceeds what may be affordable for most recent college graduates). So when it came time to move, I moved literally across the street to negate the work that goes into moving, and as a result, divvied up $1500/month in rent for two months before I decided maybe it was worth the work and effort to move after all. I ended up finding a shared house near to where I work where I live in basically a brand new house with great roommates (probably not always the case from craiglist posting) and a nice area. yay for happy endings. boo for $2000 (math: what my rent SHOULD have been - what i paid for those two months) down the drain ...

You're lucky about Craigslist working out. I'm in the same boat looking for two roomates but haven't had any luck.

Thanks for the intro, Jason...

Hi!

I live near LAX right now and am debating about living solo or with a roomie after my lease ends in May. Solitude and $1000+ in rent OR roommates and cheaper bills? sigh

Well, with my new job, solitude is the new affordable! Cheers!
