So, long story short...
While lesismore was preparing a vegan breakfast hash for guests...
lesismore made the mistake of
putting potato peels in my garbage disposal.
My Advice to You is
Don't risk it!
Here's the whole story
I only ground the peels from one medium potato and my drain is now completely blocked. Liquid Plumber can't even barrel through. Apparently they are too fibrous and starchy and are guaranteed to clog your drain. Along these same lines, avoid bananas, celery, pasta, bread, corn husks, onion skins, etc.

Unless you are willing to spend some time under a sink or have the money to hire a plumber (I've done both and neither is fun), I would say that this is some sound advice.
