So, long story short...

Jennifer made the mistake of

Leaving it up to my husband to pack and bring the rest of our important things

My Advice to You is

If it means something to you, make sure you pack it and that it gets to where it's supposed to be

Here's the whole story

My husband and I and my four daughters were leaving California back in 2000. We were moving on a shoestring so two of my daughters and I had to take a Greyhound bus from California to South Carolina. That meant that my husband was left behind to finish packing and loading the car with the important things. Well apparently my CD collection of over 100 CD's wasn't considered important to him because he left them in the apartment we were vacating. Another lesson from me about: If you don't want to lose something, make sure it's stored securely or don't let it out of your sight. Don't assume that anyone else will guard your belongings because if a husband can just forget to bring 100 CD's, then just imagine what someone not related to you would do with your things. Sad to say but bottom line here is...people can't be trusted...even if you're married to them.
