Dennis Eusebio made the mistake of

Taking my parents for granted

My Advice to You is

Regardless if you don't get along with your parents all the time or you have your issues, remember you're family.

Here's the whole story

I think most first generation americans with asian parents have this inherent huge generational divide in their family.

Its tough because you come from two different worlds and expectations are always high for you. My parents came from poverty and fought their way up to where they are now and they provided me with all that I needed to become successful. But with that, comes a lot of tension and that caused a good rift for years with my family.

So years go by and one thing changed my outlook on life. I noticed other family friends and how emotionally distraught they were when the kids never came home or talked. I finally saw the other side of the story and it really hit home for me. So I made a mark effort from that point on to just forget about any issues I had and just accept them for who they are.

Now, things are a lot better. We still fight, but what family doesn't. So always remember, no matter how many angry words get thrown around, you're family. Nothing will change that.

Adaptation and acceptance are the keys to a healthy family, I don't know what I would do in life without my family.
