So, long story short...

While ssjztien was organizing my groceries

ssjztien made the mistake of

leaving bread on top of the refrigerator

My Advice to You is

unless you enjoy your bread getting moldy quickly, keep it on the countertop or in a drawer

Here's the whole story

I had absolutely no clue why the bread was going bad so quickly. Was it the type of bread? Was it the time of year? Was it the temperature in my house? Nothing I could think of led me to believe it was actually the refrigerator being cold enough on top to create moisture on the bread and in turn, turn my bread moldy.

You may ask how I figured out that the cold refrigerator top was the cause? Well, I had a party at my place and bought a bunch of liquor which replaced the bread on top of the refrigerator after the party was over. The bread moved down to the counter top and to my surprise the bread didn't get moldy!

Sidenote: being 6'5 it is much easier to put things where I don't have to bend over to get to them, so that should answer any criticism as to why I never put the bread in a drawer/shelf from the beginning.

F.Y.I. even though it's harder to notice, wheat bread molds faster than white bread since it is more rich in nutrients.
