So, long story short...

While Ryan Soucie was Donating blood

Ryan Soucie made the mistake of

squirting blood everywhere by tensing my arm

My Advice to You is

Relax your arm when the nurse/attendant is inserting the needle

Here's the whole story

Recently, I went to a Life South blood drive to donate. (Usually they give away free stuff as an incentive) This time they were giving away a free 1-topping medium pizza from Dominoes and a free Regal Cinema movie pass. Booya.

After the initial interview and prick of the finger (ow), they sat me in the chair and put the pressure strap over my arm. They gave me one of those squishy balls to squeeze so they can find my vein. Once found, they mark the spot w/ a marker and you can relax your arm. The nurse busted out the needle and was ready to go in.

But for some reason, I kept my arm tense and upon inserting the needle, blood squirted into two streams: one on my shirt and one on the nurse. Awesome. Other people donating were freaking out, which made for a pretty good laugh. So yeah, never tense your arm or pump your fist when you're getting the needle. Unless your want to do some laundry.
