So, long story short...

jason sadler made the mistake of

drinking milk before the hardest workout of my life

My Advice to You is

no dairy while doing intense workouts

Here's the whole story

Last wednesday I started my 8 week rehab of high intensity training at a place called the HIT center to accelerate the rehab of my torn ACL.

I've heard all the rumors of everyone throwing up, but I figured they were all just pansies and couldn't take it. As I stood over a garbage can for 5 minutes dry-heaving I realized I was either A. one of those pansies or B. feeling sick because of something I ate. The answer was B! (regardless of what you jerks think..) My body was building up lactic acid from all of the intense exercise, exercise which I hadn't done anything like in the past 4 months and my Ph levels couldn't even out fast enough. After talking with the trainer we came to the conclusion that the large bowl of milk and cereal I had for breakfast probably did me in and caused all the nausea (see, I am not a pansy).

Now I know, stay away from dairy products when you are going to start any kind of training/physical exercise that you haven't done in some time. Lactic acid will build quickly and cause you to take a very fast and queazy train ride to vomit-ville.

At least you outlasted a couple football players in the same scenario.

Good to see you're doing well now. I try and stay away from dairy products altogether. Milk causes more problems than just dry-heaving over a garbage can. "Hey, let's go to the farm. See that cow? Let's squeeze whatever comes out of it's tits and drink it. Yum Yum, and doctors say its healthy" - gimme a break. The only time I needed milk was when I was a baby. Probably wondering where I'm coming from - I went to notmilk.com a year ago and it changed my life.

Yeah I remember reading a couple articles about how the dairy industry marketed the hell out of milk. Great link Coby, lots of good reads on that site.

Save the milk for after the workout and in my case, for cookies.
