So, long story short...

While Edgar Vergara was running wind sprints

Edgar Vergara made the mistake of

not doing a cool down and I passed out on the side of the road

My Advice to You is

walk and do a cool down after doing intense running like you learned in P.E. to prevent from blacking out

Here's the whole story

A little over three months ago I played in a basketball tournament in Montreal. One of the days that I was preparing for the tourny, I decided to do wind sprints up and down my block. I was still a little out of shape at that time so after I was exhausted, I just quit and stood around to catch my breath on the side of the road. Before I knew it, I started to get dizzy and I couldn't catch my breath even though I had stopped running. I started to freak out so I sat down on curb. The next thing I knew, I woke up with my face down in the dirt.

It took this experience and a little online research for me to learn why they always preached doing cool downs in elementary P.E. while I was growing up. Apparently when you run fast or start to do any other extraneous exercise with your legs, your body eventually uses your legs more to pump blood throughout your body instead of the heart. If you stop running suddenly, your heart doesn't have time to adjust and not enough blood reaches your brain. Lack of blood in the brain = blackout.
