Kristy’s Story

So, long story short...
Kristy made the mistake of
saying i wouldn't get the car fixed if it was too expensive
My Advice to You is
get the estimate before talking prices
Here's the whole story
My car was a 95 mercury tracer, nothing nice. But I've had it since I got my drivers license and she's always been good to me. Just last week it started running horribly.. shaking, not starting, etc. So I took her to the repair shop to get an estimate, to see whether or not it would even be worth fixing. Otherwise I knew a new car was in order. I made the mistake of telling the repairman ahead of time that if it was going to be expensive that car wasn't really worth it so I was just going to get a new one. Well they call me with an estimate of $200 which was great so I agreed to the repair. Then not even one day after getting back the car it's not running at all. When I took it back they found something else wrong and estimated another 700 dollars. I ended up just buying a new car last weekend, but they surely jipped me out of 200 bucks for a spark plug repair that apparently had nothing to do with the problem..

Must've been a tiny unicorn in the exhaust. Poking holes and shitting in the filters.
I always view dealing with mechanics to be something like this, "How much of my car can you fix for this much money?" or "If I give you a crap load of money, can you fix my car all the way unlike you did for the last guy?"
"shitting on filters? no way.. there is a mythological beast in my exhaust??"
seriously though, didn't you have a mechanic friend too? double lesson learned!
