My Advice to You is
always check your blind spots
Here's the whole story
I was backing out of my friend's office parking lot. They have two spaces in the lot with a wooden telephone pole in between them. There is a car parked on the left hand side of the pole and I am in front of that car. As i ease around the front of that car and back out beside the car I completely forget about the rather large wooden pole. I only forgot about the pole until I heard the sound of it raping the rear driver's side of my new car. The auto body shops give about the same reaction to a telephone pole accident as they do to a tree accident. Its a look of, "How could you do this?", followed by laughter.

who puts polls in parking lots? i can't tell you how many times i've run over those concrete parking spot dividers!
well maybe i can, because it was never in any car i actually owned.. but i do hate them.
Ah man I hateeee that noise and feeling when you hit someting.
I did this once, however instead of a pole it was dennis's car.
