Barron’s Story

So, long story short...
Barron made the mistake of
Of not making sure my car was in Neutral and crashed into my garage
My Advice to You is
Always make sure you car in neutral when you start and never leave your car in 1st gear, either 3rd or netural.
Here's the whole story
Almighty, earlier in the day I let my father drive my car and he parked it back in the garage. Little to my knowledge he left the car parked in 1st gear with the hand break down. When I usually park the car in neutral with the hand break up. So I go out to my car and I am also talking on my cell phone and as out of habit i push the clutch in and let it out, but this time the car leaps forwards because it was in 1st gear and not the usual neutral and I hit the tool chest that was parked inches from my car. I panic for a second and back the car up and the tool chest scratched my hood, broke my headlight cover and messed up my front bumper. So my advice is to make sure you car is in neutral when your starting it and to never leave in 1st gear while parked because this can happen, leave it in 3rd gear if you have to leave it in gear so as soon as you let the clutch out it will stall.
I am a avid car enthusiasts so my car means a lot to me, and make sure to park away from other cars where every I go to avoid door dings and I am very picky about paint and scratches so this just killed my day, but I will fix it.

I am going to look for a story on dtmpower.net about this guy who had a crazy custom e36. His car had been at the body shop for something like 6-8 months getting all this custom work and the day he drove it home he left it in 1st gear. He later went to drive the car and smashed the front into his garage wall! Brutal!
I ran over my friends foot because it was left in 1st gear without me knowing it. You'd be surprised how many people do this.
Hey Dennis, we have a great feature on this site where you can relate stories to others. It's right above the comments box, try it out!
Man, this must've sucked. I'm surprised how well the bumper held up though compared to the tool chest.
