Fred’s Story

So, long story short...
Fred made the mistake of
reaching under the dashboard to grab a map
My Advice to You is
pay attention at the wheel
Here's the whole story
So a few years ago I drove out to the country because I had arranged to buy a set of speakers from a friend of a friend. My buddy and I got lost.
After driving for about half an hour, we pull up behind a pick-up truck at a stop sign. I took the opportunity to reach under the dashboard for my map. Unbeknownst to me, my foot was not firmly on the brake peddle and we coasted into the pick-up truck in front of us.
I thought for sure I was dead. I thought the guy was gonna get out of his truck and shoot me.
But it turned out the only damage was to MY front bumper. The fact that his bumper was a lead pipe bolted onto the tailgate probably helped.
He was even nice enough to give us directions back onto the highway.
Oh except my car was actually my dad's car, and it cost over a thousand bucks to fix the bumper.

yet another reason why guys shouldn't use maps.. intuition alone will get you were you need to go!
good story though.
That's what navi's are for. If only I could afford one myself.
i don't use maps. i just drive around and around, go to a gas station if needed (but never ask for directions) then continue going around and around...........
