So, long story short...

anonymous made the mistake of

leaving a job I was happy in, for another job that paid more.

My Advice to You is

The grass isn't always greener on the other side.

Here's the whole story

I worked in a very trendy, cool company, it was small with around 40 people in the company, very relaxed - drinks after work on fridays, Nintendo wii in the boardroom, newly renovated offices, in the process of a promotion... I got offered a job at a corporate retail company - After 3 interviews I wasn't sure if the job was for me, but everyone around me was saying that it sounds like an amazing opportunity that was made for me, but a little voice in me said this wasn't for me, but I ignored it, quit my job and started work on 2nd Jan 2008.

It's only been 3 days, but I can see this is definately not the company for me. I'm a web designer and most sites I reference are blocked - Access denied for any multimedia site or social networking site, which makes it really hard for me to be inspired and do my job. No MSN Messenger allowed - I feel totally restricted and uninspired to work there. My previous company said that I'm welcome back anytime, but I'll give it another 3 weeks and then make the decision of going back, if I can hold out for that long!

The grass is always greener in these situations. I personally passed up a job a couple years back that would of set me up financially for a long time but chose to work somewhere where I thought I could be more creative.

I always think about how that money I made could've set me off for the future.

Money isn't everything. Sounds like your last job had MAJOR perks... and surfing the web for inspiration is always a great thing for designers. The little voices are usually right, so good luck with whatever you choose!
