Here's the whole story
Well, we rediscovered an old "Brew Your Own Beer Kit" that my room mate had hiding in our garage and we decided to give it a shot.
We loaded it up with all the ingredients, put it in our pantry (a warm, dry, dark place, as instructed) and went about our business of waiting for 6-12 weeks.
About a week later my roommate hears a curious loud noise in the kitchen and goes to investigate. He is not so happy to find that the entire thing has exploded in our pantry.
Imagine pouring an entire half-keg of beer into your kitchen...yeah...not good...

Was it the Wal-Mart kit?
has anyone ever had success with one of these kits?
That must have been one hell of a mess. A guy at work i know brews his own beer, i'll have to get some formulas.
There wasn't a party and it probably technically wasn't beer yet, but would this be considered a party foul?
