So, long story short...

While Dennis Eusebio was playing poker

Dennis Eusebio made the mistake of

forgetting to the check the crib sheet

My Advice to You is

keep the little crib sheet next to you when playing for the first time

Here's the whole story

So I'm playing poker for the first time the other night and I come across what I think is a 'straight'. I'm dumping chips in like a baller and then it comes down to me and my friend.

We keep going back and forth, upping the ante each time and finally it comes down to showing our hand. He lays down his cards and its a great hand. I put mine down with confidence thinking I won the hand but I get "wtf" reaction from everyone at the table including my friend.

"Uhm, what the hell?"

Apparently, Ace's aren't wildcards in Poker. Who knew.

LOL. At least it makes it easier to bluff if you think you have something when you really don't.

Awe, that's awesome! We play poker every week and this kind of stuff goes down all the time. My favorite is when someone doesn't see the straight or flush that they have and think they lost, only to completely outplay their opponents through stupidity.

On the topic of Aces, can aces be at the beginning or end of a straight? I always thought they couldn't but we play otherwise.

Aww...that's cute. And Travis, if you're playing Texas (because that's all anybody plays anymore), aces can start and finish a straight, but you can't use it as a bridge between a king and a two.
