noir’s Story

So, long story short...
While noir was Learning to paint
noir made the mistake of
not knowing oil paints take a VERY long time to dry
My Advice to You is
Wait a month (or longer) before touching an oil painting (or paint with acrylics).
Here's the whole story
I painted a masterpiece in oil. A few days went by and I thought the paint had dried. I took it down, set it on the floor and put another canvas in front of it. Days go by and I go to sign my painting, only to find that it's some scribbled, gibberish mess. Only later did I find out that Oil paints sometimes take more than a year to dry. Now I only paint with acrylics.

Ah, yes! This is why you need a medium. I prefer a mix of Linseed Oil and Terpenoid. Use that like you would water with the acrylics and it will cut your drying time down significantly. You can't beat the luster and glow of oil paints, but yeah, I've definitely been in the situation where my oil painting hadn't dried before I submitted it to a show.
That's one of the benefits of oil. You can alter your work for a long time after it's been painted.
hehe yeah i remembered my first time, drama, deadline, hehe
