Yea I remember always having to sign a contract saying that whatever I worked on at work was owned by the company. 99% of the time a company won't go through with that rule, but there's always that 1%.

I also have been guilty of dropping big idea bombs on unworthy organizations. I later found that a need for acceptance from my peers at work and need for career advancement left me vulnerable to SELLING OUT.

In the end, don't do it if your organization is not a career for YOU. I am leaving my company and going to a new one where my ideas are welcome and my energized attitude is appreciated. Being a Maverick can be trying if you beat your head agaist the same wall of confusion (my current corpaorate job) all the time.

Good luck.
